Gangaramaya Temple

Colombo's most beloved Buddhist temple — a working monastery with a small museum of donated curiosities. Quiet, photogenic, slip on a sarong over knees.

Independence Square & Memorial Hall

A short walk through Cinnamon Gardens, Colombo's leafiest district. Coffee and a wood-apple juice at Park Street Mews.

Pettah markets & the old Dutch quarter

Tuk-tuk through Pettah's covered bazaars — spice stalls, brass shops, the red-and-white striped Jami Ul-Alfar mosque. Loud, fast, completely Sri Lankan.

Lunch — your driver's pick

A vetted local rice-and-curry spot. $8–12 per person, vegetarian and halal options. Not included in the tour price — every guest's taste differs.

Galle Face Promenade

A long walk along the Indian Ocean with kite-sellers, isso wadé carts, and an absurdly photogenic colonial hotel. Optional last stop at a Cinnamon Gardens craft shop.

Back to the cruise terminal

90 minutes before your all-aboard call. Settle with your driver, snap a photo, board with time to shower before dinner.
