Cruise terminal pickup

Driver waiting at the cruise terminal exit. Onto the southern expressway by 8am — coffee stop optional if your ship serves breakfast late.

Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery

A conservation project rescuing five species of sea turtle. Hold a one-day-old hatchling, learn about their tagging program. Entrance ~ $3.

Madu River detour (optional)

Short stop for photos at the river mouth and the bridge to the cinnamon island. Skip if your ship has a shorter window.

Galle Fort

Walk the Dutch ramparts, the 1848 lighthouse, the old courthouse, and the spice shops on Pedlar Street. Coffee at Pedlar's Inn or a juice at Poonie's Kitchen.

Lunch — Galle Fort or coconut grove

Your driver's pick: a rice-and-curry spread inside the fort, or a coconut-grove restaurant just north with sea views. $10–18 per person.

Stilt fishermen at Weligama

The iconic photo. Real fishermen still work the poles in the early hours — by afternoon it's photo-ready, with a small tip to the men who pose ($2–5).

Bentota beach stop

Optional 30 minutes on the sand before the drive back. Coconut, photo, toes in the Indian Ocean. Your call.

Back to the cruise terminal

90 minutes before your all-aboard call. Tip your driver, settle the bill, board with time for a shower.
